Orly Doron, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Orly Doron holds a degree in psychology from the Universidad de San Buenaventura. She also underwent specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Universidad del Norte and later earned a Master of Social Work from Barry University.

Orly’s calling to help others emerged at a young age. Inspired by her own therapeutic experience at seven years old, during which she found security, love, and care, she embarked on a path to becoming a therapist.

She has faced powerful life experiences, including the early loss of her first child, a family kidnapping, relocation from Colombia to the US, and starting anew. These experiences, coupled with her education, have deeply informed her understanding of the complexities of human life.

Orly believes CBT is a transformative tool for bringing about positive change in real life. CBT is a short-term therapy that allows individuals to explore the origins of their thoughts, understand what maintains them, and learn how to effect positive change.

By seeking evidence from real-life situations to support their thoughts, individuals can modify their distorted interpretations and improve their ability to view reality objectively. CBT teaches them to identify and change thoughts that hinder their functional interpretation of events, fostering self-awareness, mindfulness, and the ability to handle life stressors.

With CBT, individuals gain control, strengthening self-esteem, self-confidence, and overall well-being. Orly emphasizes the life-changing potential of CBT, which is applicable to various life stressors.
