Psychology Residents

It's an individual who has:

  • Completed the doctoral degree (Psy.D., Ph.D., or Ed.D.)
  • A minimum of two full-year experience working with patients
  • At least one-year full-time predoctoral internship (focused on patient work)

The final step can involve receiving specialized training and preparing to pass their board examinations to become a licensed clinical psychologist.

An advantage of working with a psychology resident is that the fees are typically lower than those of a licensed clinical psychologist. Additionally, residents are supervised by licensed clinical psychologists, providing the benefit of a collaborative team approach to care.
