Dr. Evan Mehlman is known for his unwavering commitment to helping children, adolescents, and their families navigate emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges. With a passion for adult treatment as well, Dr. Mehlman has established a prominent presence in the South Florida community.

Inspired by his personal experience with counseling during college, Dr. Mehlman’s dedication to helping others was solidified early in his career. He worked as a lead therapist in a residential treatment facility with abused and neglected children. Later he served as an Internship Director for a local community mental health agency. Dr. Mehlman has continually sought training from world-renowned clinicians, focusing on treating OCD and anxiety-related disorders.

Dr. Mehlman has been an integral part of the Weston community since 2001. He also teaches fellow clinicians the benefits of evidence-based practices. As a mentor, Dr. Mehlman conducts and coordinates treatment team meetings within the practice, ensuring consistent training and skills for all clinicians.

He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and a graduate of the Behavior Training Therapy Institute (BTTI). Dr. Mehlman is also a proud member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF) and Selective Mutism Association. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mehlman oversees and supervises the Neuroeducational Evaluation process at Weston Family Psychology. His role as an evaluator allows him to provide comprehensive psychological, psychoeducational, and neuroeducational testing for various conditions.

Dr. Mehlman collaborates with school administrators, teachers, psychiatrists, and other practitioners to ensure each individual’s unique needs are met. His commitment to a collaborative approach emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive support system. Dr. Mehlman resides in the community he serves, highlighting his dedication and love for his work. With his wife, two children, and four dogs, he is proud to contribute to the well-being of the Weston community.
